Hello, My name is Liz or Lizzie (I was always Lizzie growing up and now people are all of a sudden calling me that again, lol).I own my own fiber mill, Fibers 4 Ewe, where I get to process all types of fiber and create really fun different blends that I sell at the festivals and on my ETSY store. I love seeing my customers faces light up in awe that the raw fleece they dropped off became something that they spin into something beautiful.
I’m married to a wonderful husband and we have 2 little girls that are 3 and 5. We also have 3 dogs, a cat, chickens and 7 sheep. I am an avid fiber addict and love to create. My two three favorites are spinning (of course), knitting, and sewing (mostly for my girls). I also love weaving, crochet, rug hooking (with roving), and and anything else really that has something to do with fiber or fabric
. I also love agriculture, I grew up with animals and hope to pass this love onto our daughters. We do our best to know where our food comes from. We grow a big garden every year and can as much as possible. This year we are raising our lambs and chickens as well.
Dear Liz,
I just had my two sheep sheared by this wonderful shearing team – Colin and his dad. I teach music at Holy Name and had the pleasure of meeting him there. He has recommended you for processing our wool. We have two shropshire/dorset sheep. I also have a llama who I will be trimming up soon as well.
What is your approximate wait time for processing and spinning the sheep wool and llama wool? I always get confused with the actual cost of start to finish charges for this process – so could you give me an estimate of the cost for this? I do not wish to dye the wool just leave it the natural colors.
I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you so much!
Nancy Ackerman
