Hi, I am thinking you are on the right track. I am more of a knitter/weaver than I am felter. If I were you I would do the koolaid dyeing, felt some old sweater and turn sew them into little bags, also you can do felted beads and make them into necklaces/ear rings. With elementary kids I would stay away from the needle felting because they hurt. I hope that helps.

Hi,
I live in Oakdale (Montville), Ct. I am starting an Art Club for the local Elementary school.
I'm looking to do some felting projects with them. I am a knitter, not a felter. Would you have any ideas for getting them started with using wool? I was thinking of getting roving and have them dye it with kool-aid and get some felting needles and old felted sweaters for the backing.
Thanks so much. Love you site.

What do you charge for blending. We have egads amount of mohair. Do you spin straight mohair? Is this handspun or machine spun? We also have 50 pounds of llama....do you recommmend using straight llama or blending.? I will do the dyeing (my favorite part) I just have too much fiber to spin on my own. Please reply at 365daysonafarm@gmail.com

In your last paragraph you state "Be sure to to pull on the fibers even if they are stuck together because this will cause it to felt."

Shouldn't it be "Be sure NOT to pull on the fibers even if they are stuck together because this will cause it to felt."

Dear Liz,
I just had my two sheep sheared by this wonderful shearing team - Colin and his dad. I teach music at Holy Name and had the pleasure of meeting him there. He has recommended you for processing our wool. We have two shropshire/dorset sheep. I also have a llama who I will be trimming up soon as well.

What is your approximate wait time for processing and spinning the sheep wool and llama wool? I always get confused with the actual cost of start to finish charges for this process - so could you give me an estimate of the cost for this? I do not wish to dye the wool just leave it the natural colors.

I look forward to hearing from you. Thank you so much!
